At last: the moment has arrived for me to start sending out silly art challenges! I love receiving little prompts, project ideas and finding new excuses to play, experiment and draw: and if you're reading this then I'm guessing you do too!
Back to school season is a great time to get into good habits and develop your skills, so I really hope these little challenges inspire you to pick up your pencils and do just that! I'm living proof that getting creative on a regular basis can help you to de-stress and feel more zen - and at the same time feel energised and inspired by your own creativity.
To celebrate the arrival of my new Pink Hair Don't Care enamel pin, I've decided this month's challenges will all be themed around PINK. And here's the first:
Challenge 1: Sketch Appeal cover design
Imagine you're working for the rather terrifying Editor of Sketch Appeal (a new fashion illustration zine) and she's just rejected all your suggestions for the cover of the next issue.
She's asked you to come up with a brand-new illustration on the key theme of PINK! It doesn't matter what you draw: it could be a blushing beauty portrait, a pink-haired punk or a majestic magenta hat!
She'd like to see your suggestion for the new cover by 9am tomorrow morning: so you'd better print-off your template and get out those pink pens fast!
And if you need a bit of inspiration and motivation to get your started watch this clip from one of my favourite films EVER.
